Eight peoples

Ashlar Depths is a stone-fitting descent. Every floor of the depths is an unfinished course of masonry. The gap in it is a shape, and the bench below holds the stones cut for it. Lift one, turn it, and seat it. Seat the last stone and the joints fade: the gap was always a figure, and now it stands whole in the wall.

DescendGo down floor by floor through the halls of eight peoples, each with its own stone, its own light and its own rite. Seat a stone where the course can no longer finish and it is refused, and a heart goes with it.
